If you want to play as a Midlander, be sure to have strong physical abilities and be able to take on large opponents. If you want to play as the Highlanders, be sure to have strong skills with weapons and armor.
Some of these choices seem particularly exciting. You can choose your character’s name-day (their birthday) from XIV’s calendar, and pick a Patron Deity to watch over your adventure.
Unfortunately, both of these choices are completely irrelevant.
The name-day has never had any sort of in-game recognition, and the Patron Deity is linked to a mechanic that has been redundant for a long, long time.

There are many different Patron Deities that can be used in different playstyles, and even back when elements did count, choosing the right Patron Deity for your preferred play style wasn’t a massive game changer.
