Our study found that the songs that are most popular with gamers and those looking to win the most often are the ones with a fast tempo and a catchy melody.
Participants were given a preselected shortlist of 50 songs, all of which had been recently voted by gamers in a survey we conducted (prior to the main study) as their favorite music to listen to whilst gaming. The songs included are from a variety of genres, with some from popular video game soundtracks. The study found that the majority of participants preferred listening to music from video game soundtracks over any other type of music. ..
The results of the study showed that people who played the game with no music felt more engaged and had a more positive outlook on life than those who played it with music. The study also found that people who played the game with music felt more stressed and had a negative outlook on life.
