Some feats are just not that good. They don’t change the game in a significant way, and they’re not worth taking. ..
- The ability to create powerful magical creatures that can do damage on their own.
- The ability to summon powerful dragons and other creatures with just a few words.
- The ability to use magic to heal yourself and others, even if you’re not very good at it.
- The ability to use magic to control the elements, including weather, fire, and water.
- The ability to use magic to turn people into animals or demons with just a few words.
-Feat: Improved Initiative This feat allows you to take your time in making decisions, which can come in handy when you’re facing difficult challenges. If you need to make a quick decision, this feat will help you do so without feeling rushed.
10. Inspiring Leader
Inspiring Leader is a new app that allows you to give a 10-minute pep talk to boost the morale of your allies. ..
The use of an epic feat can be thrilling at first, but it can quickly become old hat. ..
One person talking for ten minutes to gain temporary hit points sounds like a terrible time.
The speaker is praising the audience’s patience and urging them not to roleplay during their next speech.
Inspiring Leader’s temporary hit points provide only a modest amount of extra protection. ..
9. Tough
This feat is not useless, but it is not very interesting either. ..
Tough gives you increased hit points, and an additional 2 hit points every subsequent level.
Leveling up is deceiving until you do the math. When you reach level 20, you gain 40 hit points. ..
I’m not saying that 40 hit points is nothing. But it’s not great either.
If you have a feat to spare, it’s okay. But it should be taken after careful consideration.
8. Actor
There are few situations in which Actor can be of help. ..
Being proficient in Deception and Performance will make you more able to fool others. Especially if you have high Charisma.
Wizards and Sorcerers have the spell Alter Self at their disposal, making Actor even less underwhelming.
Actor is not ideal for imitation because it’s mechanically difficult.
7. Linguist
Linguistics is a field of study that deals with the structure and function of language. Linguists are often called upon to analyze and interpret language data in order to better understand how it works. ..
The YubiKey 5C is a security key that gives you an additional point in Intelligence. Its features are what put it on this list. ..
I could see why learning three languages could be useful. But it won’t be often.
Common is the way to communicate with creatures in your games.
There is no need to worry about Linguist when fighting in the battlefield. ..
I’m a linguist who can help you write in ciphers which can be of some use for confidential information. However, again, very situational.
6. Grappler
The Grappler feat is a unique wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu experience that will leave you breathless.
Grappling is a popular martial art that relies on hand-to-hand combat. However, the grappling mechanics are not always straightforward. ..
Grappling your foes to the ground takes two actions to execute. So you waste two rounds where you could’ve easily just hit your target with a sword twice. This means that, on average, you will miss your target by 2.5% each time you try to grapple them. ..
When you grapple someone, you put yourself in a state of Restraint, inviting enemies to land easy critical hits.
The Grappler feat is supposed to make you more agile and powerful. But by restricting yourself, you make it much harder to do these things.
5. Dungeon Delver
Dungeon Delver is a game that, at its best, is not bad.
But what if you’re not sure where the party is? What if you don’t know where they are in the first place? In this case, it can be difficult to find your way out.
Your party will not be in one dungeon all the time.
Unless you need an Indiana Jones-themed character in your campaign, you can ignore Dungeon Delver and still succeed with Perception and Investigation checks. ..
The Dungeon Delver feat grants you an advantage when spotting secret doors and traps, giving you resistance to trap damage, and keeping your Perception at its normal level while moving quickly. ..
If you’re in a hurry to leave a dungeon, you’re already setting yourself up for trouble. Slow and careful exploration is the key to avoiding traps and making it out alive. ..
4. Lightly/Moderately/Heavily Armored
This group of feats does not seem to be very useful in my opinion.
Armor that is suited to your class’ play style can be found in most classes.
There are few builds that would call for maximizing AC, either. ..
If you have high Dexterity, you’ll want to avoid wearing heavy armor if you want good AC. ..
Dexterity is a important stat for characters who want to be able to move and fight effectively. If you don’t have it, you’ll likely find yourself unarmored or without the protection that you need in order to survive in combat.
The increase in AC will probably be minimal if not equal, so I don’t find much point in these feats.
3. Durable
The only use for Constitution is to make up for your dump stat, which is Constitution.
It’s not great. And if you’re worried about your Constitution score being low, you could just position yourself better during encounters.
Even if you have 1 extra Constitution, it’s not going to do much for you.
Durable makes a floor for how low you can roll for healing. ..
The Snooze Button is a handy tool for short rests, but its effectiveness is minimal and certainly not worth a feat spot. ..
2. Keen Mind
The Keen Mind software has a lot of features that are redundant and need to be addressed.
Your internal compass allows you to determine which direction is north.
If you’re planning on exploring wide unknown areas, carrying only your bare essentials is a good idea. ..
If the sky is always covered in thick black clouds or if no one knows that the Sun rises in the east, maybe there’s some use to this feature. But that’s being generous. Anyone with a decent Survival score, proficiency in Cartographer tools, or anyone with the item “Orb of Direction” makes this section of Keen Mind useless.
This ability also has a timer that goes off after a certain amount of time, letting you know how many hours until sunrise or sunset. This may be useful when racing against a time-based curse or constantly combating vampires, but I’m sure there are many other ways to tell the time.
Most people who live in the real world know how to tell time using their environment anyway. ..
Keen Mind also lets you remember what you’ve seen or heard, as long as it happened within the past month. I find it silly that your character suddenly forgets things after a month.
If you want to be successful in this class, you’ll need a high Intelligence score. This seems to be a requirement for those who don’t want to take notes. ..
The only reason I’d see Keen Mind being useful is if a Wizard loses their spellbook and needs to remember, in extreme detail, its contents. And let’s be honest, that doesn’t happen very often. Not worth a feat.
1. Weapon Master
I tried to give this feat a chance, but it was often taunted and made fun of in the Dungeons and Dragons community for good reason.
Weapon Master gives you an increase to your Strength or Dexterity, and proficiency in four weapons of your choice. ..
Dwarves and Elves are two of the many races in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Choosing one of these races already gives you some bonuses, such as increased health or magic. ..
Weapon Master may sound like a great idea at first, but there are some things you should know first. ..
Martial classes are already proficient in weapons, so choosing one is a good way to start. ..
Multiclassing is an option for classes that won’t be using weapons often, as classes that don’t need this feat won’t need it either. ..
Arcane Trickster is a melee wizard who specializes in using arcane abilities to take down her opponents. Her unique abilities allow her to manipulate the elements, control time, and even create illusions. She is able to quickly take down her opponents with her quick reflexes and powerful attacks.
Pact of the Blade is a powerful melee weapon that can be obtained through quests or by killing enemies. It is a great choice for a Warlock because it provides high damage and can easily take down enemies.
Weapon Master is a useless tool for the player character.
