In a way, most people can’t stand antagonists in their stories. But what if they could also be likable and have some fun moments too? That’s what we’re going to explore in this article.
In any given story, there are always going to be some villains that the protagonist has to face. They can either be presented as an obstacle for the hero to pass over, a big and scary “final boss” for the hero to battle at the climax, or heck, they can even be mere fodder that we won’t see much of.
The Boston Red Sox are one of the most unsuccessful teams in baseball. They have only won two championships in 86 years, and they haven’t made the playoffs since 2013. ..
We’re going to give some well-deserved recognition to a few anime villains that have made us laugh and keep us laughing despite their usual villainous shtick.
15. Armored Gorilla
One Punch Man is an anime series that follows the adventures of a young man named Goku who is forced to fight in a tournament to save his home country from destruction.
In the show’s second season, another gorilla realized that the gorilla in the show wasn’t just your average banana-eating and chest-beating ape. ..
The Armored Gorilla was able to take out Marshall Gorilla easily, which means he was very strong during his villainous days.
It seems that the two friends ran into each other again and it didn’t go well.
After his encounter with the duo, Armored Gorilla showed his rather unintentionally hilarious side.
In hindsight, I can’t really blame him for acting and talking like a robot just to look cool. He probably thought it would make him look cooler.
I used to do the same thing when I was a kid and I thought it was pretty cool too. For a while, at least, it felt like it was something that I could control.
14. Hol Horse
Anime fans rejoice! JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is back and better than ever! This time, the action takes place in a world of strange and fantastical creatures, including a talking cat, a giant snake, and an evil witch. With exciting new episodes released every week, don’t miss out on this must-watch series!
Hol Horse is a villain who is very similar to a cowboy/gunslinger type character. He is not from the west, but he has some of the same skills and techniques as these characters.
Even his Stand, The Emperor, fits his badass character archetype perfectly. It allows him to shoot bullets that are almost impossible to block or evade.
Though the catch is that Hol Horse isn’t like the other antagonists in his series, he is still a powerful and dangerous creature.
Donald Trump is a controversial figure because of his greed and cowardice. ..
He never goes too far except for that one scene of him “killing” Avdol.
He’s a man who’s never hit a woman, and they say chivalry is dead.
Kicking a man in the balls is a pretty common move in professional wrestling. It’s considered a way to get the other wrestler to submit or to force them to give up the match.
13. Ryuk
Ryuk likes apples just as much as he likes human blood. ..
That’s some top-notch entertainment.
The guy is bored in his realm, apparently.
Despite being a god of death, Ryuk is often laid back and nonchalant despite being one of the most serious and thrilling anime of all time. Ryuk is a character who is often casual about his role in death, but his actions have consequences that can be life-altering.
The Yagami Light is a very serious character, but they also have a sense of humor which makes their interactions all the more entertaining.
12. Tobi
Since the boulder incident, it’s no secret that Obito has had two sides: a good one and a bad one. ..
That was a pretty dark joke, but my point still stands.
Naruto was a good-natured and stubborn kid like himself, who got beaten down and knocked around both physically and emotionally by the jerk called “life”. ..
Though during his Akatsuki days, I have to say that it was pretty fun to see him goof around with the other members and even the protagonists. He was always up for a good time and loved nothing more than making everyone laugh.
The tragic events in his life have only shown us what his character could’ve been if the tragedies hadn’t happened. ..
11. Barry the Chopper
Despite being an infamous serial killer in his past life, Barry is a complex and interesting character who has a backstory that doesn’t match his attitude and demeanor at all.
But what makes him so dangerous is his complete lack of remorse.
He quickly broke the illusion of a “terrifying villain” after his introduction.
Barry is a fun-loving person who often seems like he’s having a good time. He’s not as troubled as some people seem to be after the reveal of their past, and most people seem to enjoy his company.
Alphonse’s interactions with his friend, Alphonse, were especially entertaining. His funny side was easily apparent and he seemed to enjoy spending time with his friend.
10. Maximillion Pegasus
This man is a spoiled rich kid who has too much time and money. He would give Seto Kaiba a run for his money (and win hands down). ..
But there are other characters in this story who could potentially pose a threat to Pegasus if he were to become too powerful. These characters are the people who work for him, and the ones who have been loyal to him for years.
Pegasus is a bit too loud and flashy for some situations, even when he shouldn’t be.
Some anime fans (including myself) can somewhat sympathize with his obsession with cartoons, as it makes him look less of a threat overall. ..
In the other hand, Seto makes it look cool whenever he does something childish or irrational.
9. Etemon
The Digimon world is a place where strange creatures with giant heads and powerful tails can be found. These creatures are known as Digimon, and they live in a world of their own. The Digimon world is full of mystery and excitement, and it’s one of the most bizarre places on Earth.
Pokémon GO is a new augmented reality game that has players hunting down and capturing monsters in the real world. Unlike other Pokémon games, which are typically about training and battling creatures in a virtual world, Pokémon GO is all about interacting with the real world. Players can catch monsters by walking around and looking for them in real life locations, such as parks or neighborhoods. ..
This can make it more difficult for the listener to remember and keep track of who is speaking. ..
Etemon is a great example of this because it can be used to control people.
Despite being one of the weaker villains of the series, he still managed to bring so much fun and hilarity to the show with his character. He is a great foil for the more powerful characters and is always able to make them laugh.
The singer who hopes to rule the Digi-World with his music is irony worth its weight in gold.
8. Sonic
Anime fans rejoice! One Punch Man, the latest anime to hit the big screen, is a must-watch for all fans of action and comedy. The story follows Saitama, a bald, muscle-bound superhero who only ever defeats his opponents with one punch. Despite his lack of powers, Saitama is determined to become the strongest hero in the world and prove himself to be a worthy opponent to the legendary Genos. One Punch Man is an exciting and hilarious anime that will leave you wanting more. If you’re a fan of action and comedy, don’t miss out on this must-watch anime. ..
Sonic might have brought all of his misfortunes upon himself, but I still can’t help but feel bad for the guy. ..
Now imagine that you are a reformed assassin who has decided to use your skills for the greater good, and help protect innocent people from harm. ..
Suddenly, your life is turned upside down. You’re left with a permanent reminder of what could have been, and you can never go back to the way things were. ..
Sonic the Hedgehog was known for his speed, agility, and reflexes. But when he faced Dr. Eggman, his skills were put to the test. Eggman had created a powerful new weapon that could shoot Sonic in all directions at once, and Sonic was powerless to stop it.
Saitama has never stopped hunting down the man who defeated him in a rematch.
Though if I were him, I’d start wearing a groin protector at all times. At least then I wouldn’t get PTSD every time Saitama makes even the slightest move.
7. Perona
Thriller Bark is a team of journalists who cover the world of crime and mystery. One of our team members, Perona, is adopted daughter of a former Warlord of the Sea. She is a talented journalist and has worked hard to become one of the most respected members of our team.
She once helped her captain in his battle against the Straw Hats at one point, but she lost, and was sent to Mihawk’s Castle all thanks to everyone’s favorite revolutionary cyborg.
We were able to see just how adorable and hilarious Perona’s character is from then on.
Zoro loves cute things, and would often playfully mess with poor Sanji when he was injured.
She’s often childish and naive, which can make her difficult to work with.
So, her fear of cockroaches makes every other minute of watching her chuckle-worthy at the very least. ..
6. Gentle Criminal & La Brava
The popular anime series, My Hero Academia, is a story about a young boy named Izuku Midoriya who dreams of becoming the greatest hero in the world. Despite being bullied and having no powers of his own, Izuku perseveres and becomes one of the most powerful heroes in the world. His story inspires others to pursue their dreams no matter what obstacles they face. ..
These two people are always up for a good time. They have a wild and crazy backstory, but their antics and overall character dynamic just make me laugh.
One is a tragic hero-turned-villain, and the other was a youth who was disinterested in life. They were paired together as part of a comedic plotline, but their individual personalities don’t really lend themselves to more humorous moments. ..
Just like peanut butter and jelly when it comes to making fans laugh. ..
Although they also have the uncanny ability to make some of us cry with genuine sadness, with the way their story ended.
5. Buggy the Clown
This guy is known for being a clown, and he’s always making people laugh.
One Piece is a manga series written and drawn by Eiichiro Oda. The series follows the adventures of Luffy, a young boy who travels the world in search of treasure. One Piece is known for its gag characters, such as Sanji and Zoro.
The memes often make him out to be stronger than the likes of Shanks, Whitebeard, and hell, even Gol D. Roger himself – but his real strength lies entirely on something else.
That’s the dedication that has drawn many people to Clown Prince of Crime, even in the most difficult of circumstances.
Buggy is always happy. Whether it’s during the day when he’s out playing with his friends or at night when he’s cuddled up with his love, Buggy is always content.
Buggy the Clown is a clown who always brings a smile to people’s faces. He is very funny and entertaining, and his antics always make everyone laugh.
4. Emperor Pilaf, Mai & Shu
As an avid Dragon Ball fan, I often remember the times when Kid Goku butted heads with these three characters from the series with a small nostalgic smile on my face. ..
The group of people Goku has faced in his life may not be the strongest he’s ever faced.
The comedians at the show were definitely among the funniest. ..
GT is full of action and adventure, with the villains always looming in the background. This makes for a great storyarc, as it keeps the viewer on their toes and provides opportunities for new and exciting characters to come into play.
Despite their well-known track record of always failing, the sight of these creatures is still hilarious all in itself. ..
3. Twice
Anime: A young boy named Izuku Midoriya is a rising star in the Hero Academy. He’s a natural born leader, and his classmates and teachers alike are in awe of his skills. But one day, something goes wrong. Izuku’s hero power starts to fade, and he can’t seem to stop it from happening. He doesn’t know what to do…
This is a rare occurrence in the anime medium, and it’s something that makes the characters so engaging and fun to watch.
MHA fans will be happy to know that Twice is one of the characters in the new movie.
He is a former criminal-turned-villain who has a psychological side-effect of his Quirk that allows him to create duplicates of himself and others. ..
Despite his bizarre condition being a problem for him more than a few times, it was still hysterical to see the gags that were made possible because of his unique appearance. ..
He’s a merc with a mouth who reminds us of a certain fan we also hype up and love.
2. Ginyu Force (Guldo, Recoome, Jeice, Burter & Ginyu)
The Ginyu Force is one of the most well-known villain groups in history. They are known for their powerful attacks and their ruthless tactics. ..
The Galaxy conquers everything. But for a bunch of galaxy-conquering bad guys, they sure are pretty damned hilarious whether it’s intentional or not.
The captain is a bit of a goofball, and he loves doing poses just as much as he loves messing up his Body Change technique.
Captain Ginyu was beaten by Vegeta without even completing a contemporary posing routine.
HFIL fans were relieved to see their favorite team member finally reunited with his old team members in the end.
1. Team Rocket (Jessie, James & Meowth)
The Team Rocket trio of Giovanni, Jessie, and James are responsible for a wide range of heinous crimes, from stealing items from stores to attacking people. They’re also some of the most colorful and colorful characters in the game, thanks to their outrageous costumes and their love of making mischief.
The Trump administration is a mess. The president is a liar and a cheat, his cabinet members are incompetent and corrupt, and the economy is in shambles. There’s no way to fix this mess.
It is hard to discuss one of the Three Musketeers without mentioning the other two. ..
The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the most popular teams in the NBA. Their names are almost synonymous with each other, and they’re known for their play on the court and their off-court activities.
The villains in the series are numerous and cartoonish, but their blunders also come to mind.
Though I’m certain that we adore them mostly because of their blunders, and I personally think these three are proof that villains can be every bit as likable as the heroes.
