The legend of the Dhalmel tells of a tree that was eaten by a Dhalmel, which then began to fly. This ability awoke within the creature, and it soon became a powerful and feared monster.
I laugh every time I read that, too.

The Pteranodon is a really cool creature that lives in Eorzea. It has wings that allow it to fly, and it’s really strong too.
This is an intimidating and potentially dangerous experience that will scare your friends into doing your bidding. Riding on an extinct creature is also on my bucket list, so I might be biased towards this one.
This creature was actually tamed from the wilds by giving it food, because it was hungry.
I guess if someone fed me I’d take them around and show them things.
To get the Pteranodon, you’ll have to complete the “Castle In The Sky” achievement. This means getting 500,000 points as every disciple of hand and land.
