The HOI4 fighter plane is much more expensive than other aircrafts, but it has some very important functions that can’t be done by other planes in the game. These functions are called “Paradrops” and “Air Supply.”

In-game items are purchasable with real money. When you find one, it is added to your inventory. You can then use it or trade it with other players.

Transport Planes for Paradrops

The transport planes are being used to drop paratroopers into enemy territory.

This function can be very useful in capturing enemy victory points from behind, and can quickly make them capitulate instead of slogging through entrenched enemies.

  1. You must be able to fly
  2. You must be able to handle the weight of the person you are paradroping

A successful paradrop requires careful consideration of the transport plane’s ability to safely and effectively deliver the team and payload to their destination. ..

Each transport plane group can carry a maximum weight of 2,000 pounds. ..

Each infantry and artillery battalion has a weight of 0.5, and each support battalion has a weight of 0.1. ..

Designing a division that is effective and efficient requires careful consideration of the tradeoffs involved. ..

A heavier division has better health and combat stats overall for longer fights behind enemy lines, and for bunkering in high victory point cities for the cost of more transport planes. This strategy is useful for enemy cities with forts.

A lighter division can be spammed and will cost less to transport planes per transport plane group.

It is possible to send one division per tile, which can disrupt enemy frontlines, encircle the enemy divisions from behind, and facilitate breakthroughs where frontlines are in a stalemate.

Transport Planes for Air Supply

If you have the Waking the Tiger DLC, another function of transport planes is being able to do air supply for ground divisions. This allows ground divisions to be supplied with air supplies without having to march through the countryside.

Each transport plane you have designated for this mission contributes a maximum of 0.2 air supply at 100% efficiency.

To be able to predict the amount of supply, you just need to multiply your air efficiency by 0.2.

The first transport plane group is designated for air supply to the front line troops. The second transport plane group is designated for air supply to the rear line troops. ..

The airdrop will only provide 0.36 of the maximum supply for the game.

This mission is helpful for areas with low supplies, as well as those where the enemy has done scorched earth tactics - which destroys infrastructure and railway hubs. ..

It is also helpful for provinces where the province’s supply is not enough to accommodate all the divisions.

It is important to have air superiority over the regions in which you would like to supply your forces with air support. If your forces are unable to reach the areas you need, your mission can be thwarted or even lost.
